Dear Rae and Family, I am so sorry on the loss of your dear and precious Mother! What a beautiful light she was for so many and how much she meant to our family for so many years! Her love for her family, friends, country, education, SC Gamecocks and community was endless. Betty Joan was a second mom to me and I treasure all her wisdom, heartache and magical laughter as she embraced life to the fullest. I am forever blessed by the Whitlock family and My heart rejoices knowing that she is reunited in Heaven with Glenn, Kim and my mom, dad and Heather praising our Saviour all the day long. God bless you and your family. Elizabeth and Stan

What an honor and blessing to have an Aunt whose heart and energy continually was devoted to family, friends and community. Her faith, love, generosity and discipline was and will continue to be an example to us all on how to live. Her enthusiasm and fun for all of the everyday celebrations and milestones achieved along the way brought us all much joy. The depth of her wisdom, wit and companionship will be dearly missed. We celebrate her life, her courage to deal with the tough things in life, her strengths, her achievements, and good works. Her loving support through the years leaves a rich legacy of family behind. Our memories and stories together as a family will sustain us until we meet again. Rest In Peace Dear Always in my heart Angela

Laura Smith Jeffers from North Augusta, SC wrote on October 13, 2022:
Dear Rae and family, Aunt Carrie called this morning and told me of your mother’s passing. Many sympathies to you and the rest of the family. Your mother was truly a fighter and such a precious lady. She was a true Hamrick’s fan and shopper. I know when she came to North Augusta many many years ago with Bill and Carrie, the first thing she wanted to do was go shopping at Hamrick’s. Her smile was contagious and loved that Cottageville accent. Prayers for all of you in the days ahead and just know you are not alone, God has got you. Cherish the memories and know that you now have three special angels watching over you and your family. If I had a magic wand I would bring your parents and sister back. The thing that has comforted my Gene’s passing (husband and Dad) is that they are no longer in pain and struggling and are made whole and healthy. Love and hugs.
