I met Brenda in the first grade at Houghton Grammar School in Augusta. I fell madly in love with her and had a crush on her thru the fifth grade. I remember my dad taking me and my brother to pick up Brenda and Melinda Singleton and we went to the movies. I moved out of Marion Homes at the end of fifth grade and Brenda moved into Marion Holmes. I got reacquainted with her because she transferred to Buller High School and we graduated the same year. Everytime that I saw Brenda at our reunions, she told me that Calvin still kidded her about our date. RIP my friend!

I met Brenda and Mickey through mutual friends who were also skiers and they invited us to join their planned ski trip for the following winter. Brenda was like a breath of fresh air, always positive and energetic in her daily life. I was drawn to her warmth and sincerity and cherish the times we spent together. We were lucky enough to go on a few more ski trips together as well as enjoying dinners out and at each other’s home. Brenda enjoyed many outdoor sports like bicycling, skiing, and tennis. I knew her to be an avid tennis player, although I didn’t participate in the sport myself, and she was an excellent skier. She and Micky were world travelers and it was always fun to hear of their adventures. Brenda Weed will be missed by everyone who knew her and especially those of us who were lucky enough to spend some quality time together.

Although I have not known Brenda very long, I am so thankful that the Lord allowed our lives to cross in this life. I was so touched by her genuine kindness and her obvious love for people. She reached out to others in Jesus name so easily. Her light was bright and her servant’s heart ministered so readily. She leaves a beautiful remembrance as a faithful, servant ready to welcome others with open arms.

Brenda, For the last several weeks I have been trying to find the right words. I don’t know how to say goodbye to someone who has worked alongside me for the past 25.5 years. I am at a loss. I know I will be forever grateful for God placing you in my life. Over the years, I have seen your compassion, empathy, kindness, patience, understanding and wisdom. You were always a voice of reason, a great sounding board, a mentor but most of all, a friend. I find myself wanting to talk to you one more time. I don’t want to say goodbye, so I’ll end with a thank you for everything you’ve shown me and for all the wonderful memories. Until we meet again…

I was blessed to have met Brenda through tennis many years ago. Her Sweet Southern Persona graced the court with enthusiasm, an engaging smile, kindness and honesty in crucial line calls. Most importantly, she possessed enormous athletic ability. I don´t think the energizer bunny could have outlasted her on the courts. I have a feeling right now she is offering some sweet tea and peach cobbler to a host of angels in heaven! I pray that her memory brings solace to friends and family during this most difficult time. She was loved by many! With sincere sympathy, Kris White Friend

What an awesome lady. She always had a smile and a kind word. She always wanted to know how I was doing if everything was all right. Always made it a point to ask how’s the fishing been. I know she is with the Lord one day I will see her again.
