Christine Agnes Gonzales
Departed July 21, 2024 in Melbourne, Florida
Christine Agnes Gonzales, of Melbourne, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on 21, July 2024.
Christine was born on 2, December 1941, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada, the daughter of Frank and Nellie Gushue. She graduated from Regina Catholic High School for Girls and St. Michael’s College where she studied with the Nuns. She was proud of her tenure with the U.S. government working as a medical typist but her proudest accomplishments were as a wife, mother, and homemaker.
In 1964, she met a handsome Air Force Airman, Rafael Gonzales, while working at the register at her parent’s restaurant and bar. Rafael was smitten with this green-eyed beauty with the million-dollar smile. Not much later, Rafael asked Christine to be his bride, they were married on
30, December 1965 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada. Christine was extremely proud of being an Air Force wife.
She and Rafael had three daughters Catherine Marie (Brad), Teresa Louise (Joe) and and Mary Angela (Brendan). Together they traveled the world and were stationed at several Air Force Bases in the United States and Europe. In 1980 she became a naturalized American citizen.
Christine’s smile was enchanting and the laughs that followed were contagious. She was very spiritual, gentle, and charitable. She was extremely devoted to the Lord, her husband, and her children. She is undoubtedly seated in heaven with the family members who preceded her in death, including her parents, two brothers, and four sisters. She has one surviving brother Raymond (Maxine) Gushue of Corner Brook, Newfoundland, Canada, and a nephew and many nieces.
Christine was a beloved Nanny. Her grandchildren are Sarah and Andrew Bush, Dominic, Sara, and Angela Charles, Julia, Mick, and Catherine McCarthy, and her great-granddaughter Ava Edwards. Family was Christine’s whole life! Christine will be loved and deeply missed always and forever. We are blessed for the legacy of her life and the imprints she left in our hearts!
