Jean Vessenmeyer, 62, tragically died from a motorcycle accident on January 22, 2021.
A large memorial celebration was generously provided Tuesday at the Broken Barrel in Melbourne, FL.

Jean was born September 28, 1958 in Butler, AL to Manly and Pat Parten. Her father retired from the US Navy. Her mother served in the US Marine Corp during Korea. Jean spent summers at her grandparents in rural South Alabama. After graduating from Sweet Water High School in 1976, she attained her associate’s degree and went on to a long career in banking and finance.

She met her now husband, James (Jim) Vessenmeyer, in 1987 and the two married in 1993, creating a family of six. Her interests included spending time with family and friends, riding on her Harley with Jim, themed parties and cheering on rooting for her Alabama football team. Jean was known for her kind heart, contagious laughter and her favorite catch phrase, roll tide. She devoted much of her time and energy attending events with friends and family, working hard to reach retirement and spoiling her beautiful grand babies. “Mama Jean” was loved by so many.

Jean is survived by her spouse, SSgt James Vessenmeyer; sister, Diana Miskow; brothers; ETCM Ronnie Bonner and PO3 Kerry Parten, 2 sons; Eric and Sgt Taylor Ramirez, 2 daughters; Kristi Moser and Kerri Hofmann and their spouses, Paula Bonner, Mollie Ramirez, Mark Moser, and John Hofmann and 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, PFC Pat Ezell; father, RMCS Manly Parten; step mother, Gloria Parten; and brother, David Morris

A funeral will be held in Thomasville, AL on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 10am at the O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.
