Sandra, Deborah and Stephanie: I worked with Joe in the NYS Office of General Services Finance Office about 45 years ago. He was my first boss when I started working for NYS. He was a great boss and he was very fussy about how his correspondence looked after typing. We used carbon paper for copies, and a square piece of white out paper to white out the original. The carbon copies had to be erased and then lined up properly when I corrected the original. If Joe could see on the copies an obvious correction, I had to redo the letter/memo and the copies. He taught me well. He made me into a good secretary. He was a great man! I will never forget him. You have my deepest sympathies for your loss of Joe. May your memories of your lives with him bring you comfort and peace. It was an honor to know and work with him. Karol Garrison, Zephyrhills, FL

It was a pleasure working with Joe. I still use one of the expressions he enjoyed using when analyzing a situation. RIP

Joe was in our very small graduating class of 1962 at Draper High School. Many of us were together from kindergarten through 12th grade. Joe knew how to balance his life, so his obituary reflected a life well lived. He accomplished much during his life while enjoying his family and friends. A blessed life for someone who made other lives better along the way. My condolences to his family. Carol Castorina Reid, DHS ‘62

I treasure Joe's friendship, his wry humor and the times we shared both on and off the golf course. I am thankful that I got to know Joe and that he was a part of my life. And while his departure leaves a hole in my heart, I have faith that our Lord has recalled one of His own.

I am so sorry for the loss of such a great man. Growing up best friends with Debbie, Joe was like a second dad to me. He always knew how to make you feel welcome and part of the family. I will remember his smelts during the holidays and how we never bothered him during tax season☺️He was such a beautiful soul and he will missed so very much. Sandy,Debbie and Steph, I love you all and am praying for comfort for you all during this very difficult time. Love you and Rest In Peace Joe❤️❤️❤️
