WHITLOCK Julie (nee Gertrude Julia Whealin) 98, passed away on October 12, 2022, in Melbourne, FL with family and friends at her bedside. Born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, Julie met Pat (the late Carl Patrick), her beloved husband of 62 years on Long Beach Island, NJ, during WWII. They married and raised a family of their own in the Philadelphia suburbs, settling in Wyndmoor, Our Mother of Consolation parish, and summering in Surf City, NJ, before retiring to Melbourne Beach, FL.
A star basketballer at Little Flower High School (’42), a trophy winning golfer at Philadelphia Cricket Club and Spessard Holland Golf Course, a spirited advocate for the American Cancer Society, and an accomplished watercolorist, Julie was also a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church, Melbourne Beach, and was active in area swim aerobics, and childcare mentoring.
She is survived by her son Chuck (Donna), daughter Lynne Shape (Norman, deceased), son Steve (Patti), six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and a host of loving family, friends, and neighbors. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in her name to the American Cancer Society.

I knew Julie and Pat from Our Club. We were in the same aquatics class for MANY years. She was a darling lady who I admired greatly and thoroughly enjoyed being in her company.
