Julio Seijo

Born on March 11, 1940 in Vila de Suso, Spain
Departed in Melbourne, Florida on December 19, 2019

In the early morning hours of December 19, 2019 after waging a long battle against Alzheimer’s, we lost our dear husband, devoted father and proud grandfather, Julio Seijo. He was the youngest of six children born on March 11, 1940 in Vila de Suso, Spain to village farmers Jesús Seijo and Dolores Carro. Growing up during the post Spanish Civil War reconstruction, he yearned to explore the world and search for opportunities beyond the generations of farmers before him. His adventures took him throughout Spain and ultimately abroad where he immigrated to the United States in 1963, where he met and married the love of his life, Olga Seijo. Together they raised three children, Edward, Lisa and Julio and taught them by example the importance of unconditional Love, commitment to Family, Respect for others and the value of Hard Work in fulfilling the promise of the American Dream. Over time the family grew with the marriage of his children and the birth of his beloved grandchildren, Isabella, Emily, Alexander, Elijah and Ian. Though the number of immediate family in his adopted country was small, he developed an extended Family through a cherished circle of friends. Aside from family, one of Julio’s greatest passions was working with his hands, ranging from his craftsman level woodworking, to endless number of home improvement projects to frequently extending a helping hand to family and friends. While we are heartbroken that he is no longer with us, he will forever be in our hearts and memories and leaves a legacy of selflessness, hard work and love of family.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be celebrated for Julio at 1:00PM, Monday, December 30, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1710 Hickory St, Melbourne, FL 32901. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial donation in Julio’s name to the non-profit Alzheimer’s Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
