Luz Maria Gunn, 87, formerly of Palm Bay, FL, passed away peacefully with family by her side on December 8, 2020, at Masonic Village in Elizabethtown.
She was born on June 17, 1933, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She graduated from Saint Frances De Sales School, Bronx, New York, worked at Knickerbocker bank, New York, moved to Pennsylvania where she raised her family, and retired from Modesto at Three Mile Island, Middletown, PA. While working full-time she opened Maria’s House of Fashion in Steelton, PA, where she really shined helping women look their best.
She enjoyed shopping, traveling, playing bingo, and vacationing with family and friends. She especially loved her cruises and Las Vegas trips. She spent her golden years in Florida enjoying the sunny days and the many visits from her children, grandchildren, and friends. Maria touched many peoples’ lives with her willingness to give and share with others. She took great pleasure in opening her home to family and friends at any time with no invitation ever needed. There was always plenty of food for all.
Maria is survived by her son, Steven Noriega and wife, Susan of Lititz, PA, daughters, Marisa Trahan of Aiken, SC; Melissa Marcks and husband, Michael of Allentown, PA; Trini Nye and husband Richard of Hummelstown, PA, eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a brother, Thomas Vargas, and wife, Bernadette of Rye Brook, NY. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Alicia Vargas; her husband, William T. Gunn, and sisters, Gladys Califano and Edith Sax.
Due to Covid-19, services will be held at a future date. Interment will be at Fountainhead Memorial Park, Palm Bay, FL.
