Mick Karolick, age 73, fought a long hard battle with cancer and passed away Monday November 4, 2019.
He grew up in Buffalo, New York and was stationed in Albany, GA as he served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. In 1969, Mick married, became a permanent resident of Melbourne, FL and worked as an engineer at Harris most of his life enabling him to retire at 55. Mick was an avid hiker and volunteer that lead to many adventures hiking with buddies and passionate volunteer efforts with Habitat for Humanity, The Florida Trail Association, Florida Wildlife Hospital and Sanctuary, and Brevard Co Sheriff’s Animal Services.
Mick is survived by his wife Linda, daughters Angela Tickle (and husband Chris Tickle), Teresa Schultz, and Christina Smallwood, 6 grandchildren, Kody, Devin, Brant, Lucas, Savannah, and Austin, and two brothers Ronald (and wife Suzi), and Richard (and wife Donna).
Funeral Services are scheduled for 10am on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Chapel 1010 Palmetto Ave, Melbourne, FL 32901. It will be followed by a 1pm committal service with military honors at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery 5525 US-1, Mims, FL 32954.

I am saddened by the passing of Mick he was a wonderful person someone I was proud to say I knew and someone who gave to so many people . The construction crew at Habitat for Humanity has learned to rely on him over the years he did great work and he was always there for us. rest in peace Mick and may God bless your family
