Michael “Mike” Owen Mercer, 72, of Palm Bay, Florida passed on August 15, 2021. He was born July 25, 1949 in Newark, Ohio to Richard Ross and Verda Jane Selby Mercer.
His family includes his wife of 52 years Charlotte Mercer, sons Stephen M. (Rebecca) Mercer and Bryan K. (Victoria) Mercer; sisters Myrna Bailey, Priscilla Price and Julia McCullough; grandchildren Maddison, Dalton, and Desiree.

Serving 20 years in the United States Army, family, service and country were what he prided himself on. He served with honor and distinction and was a member of the 2nd Armored Division (Hell on Wheels).

After retirement from the U.S. Army, he continued his career as an auto mechanic until his retirement in 2011 where he could be found each day at C-54 in the stick marsh drowning worms. If asked about his proudest achievement, he would say it was his family. Mike enjoyed supporting his grandchildren through all of the clubs and activities in their schooling and lives.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Brownlie Maxwell Funeral Home, 1010 E. Palmetto Avenue, Melbourne, Florida 32901. The United States Army will provide his honors.
