Molly Patterson passed into the company of the faithful on August 26, 2020. Born on November 5, 1926 in Springfield, Missouri, she was the daughter of Eleanor Rose (Brown) Webb and Gordon Webb. Molly Patterson was raised by her grandmother, Florence Silsby Brown.

She graduated from the Sisters of Visitation Elfindale Academy and attended Drury College before marrying Maurice (Pat) Patterson (d. 1998) in 1946. Molly worked as a homemaker, later, as a clerk in Springfield’s City Utilities, and on the couple’s farm. In 2001, Molly moved to Melbourne, Florida.

A lifelong Episcopalian, she retained her membership in St. John’s Episcopal Church in Springfield as well as Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Melbourne. Her family and friends will remember her phenomenal memory, wit, and kindness.

She is survived by her son, Gordon (Joy) Patterson, grandson Ben (Tiffany) and great grandsons Emmett and Alden.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Joy and Gordon Patterson Botanical Garden Endowment, at Florida Institute of Technology, 150 University Blvd. Melbourne, Florida 32901.

Dear Gordon and Joy, Ben and family, Please accept my sincerest sympathy and condolences on Molly's passing. What a wonderful friend and kind Lady. I loved listening to her stories. Such get up and go! She loved you all so much. I am sorry to have lost contact. I have moved back to CT. Molly lived a good life and had a strong faith. I hope her last few years were happy and comfortable. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Love and Hugs to you all
