Patricia Murphy Hurley, beloved wife of 66 years to James D. Hurley, loving mother to Christine Pietrobono (Peter), Carolyn Scott, and Diane Stevens (Mark), and grandmother to Kristen Scott Dunaway (Eric), Marissa Pietrobono, Peter Pietrobono Jr, Corinne Pietrobono and Kara Schrage (Scott) and great grandmother to 5 great grandchildren, passed away on December 8, 2022 surrounded by her daughters in Melbourne Beach, Florida. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Marie Murphy (O’Mara); brothers Thomas (Marianne) Murphy and James Murphy; son-in-law Ronald Lee Scott and grandson Ronnie Scott.

She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 25, 1933. During her lifetime she resided in Plantation, Florida, Cincinnati Ohio and Floridana Beach, Florida. She loved animals and was a volunteer at The Cincinnati Zoo. She was also an avid reader and was a member of Friends of the Library. After raising her children, she worked as a travel agent for several years. She was an environmentalist and loved the ocean. She was a member of the Whale Watch program and was active in Sea Turtle Preservation.

Patricia had a long and beautiful life and she will be deeply missed by friends and family.

There will be a private service attended by family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Sea Turtle Preservation Society, 111 South Miramar Ave., Indialantic, Florida 32903.
