Patricia “Patsy” Glisson

Born on September 3, 1937 in Bronx, New York.
Departed on October 25, 2020 in Palm Bay, Florida

Patricia “Patsy” Glisson, 83, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away on Sunday October 25, 2020 in Palm Bay.
She did many things in her journey here on earth, but was best known as a mother to her children. She moved here from Poughkeepsie, NY; where she grew up in the Bronx and was the youngest of 7 children born to Catherine Maher and Felix “Pops” Bruce. She was small in stature but large in heart and spirit, and was loved by all who met her. She was Baptist by faith and loved to listen to Elvis sing his gospel songs.

Music was her passion and most times she could be found singing along to her beloved Elvis or at Little Darlins dancing to her favorite Lou Christie tunes and running his fan club. Many nights she’d be found playing Yahtzee or cards with her best friend Anne till the wee hours. In her later years everyone knew she’d be in front of her computer playing Gardens of Time on Facebook, foot tapping to her music as it played.

She married James Glisson and had 5 wonderful children, James, Kathy, Mark, Phillip & Jeff. She always told those that were added to the family by marriage that there is no in-law in her, just mother.

Survived by her 2 brothers; Joseph & Franklin, 6 children; Linda, Katherine, James, Mark, Phillip and Jeff, 8 grandchildren; Selina, James, Robert, Trina, Jeremy, Hannah, Brittney & Sierra, 7 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She will be greatly missed by all.

Calling hours will be Saturday October 31st from 1pm to 2:30pm at Brownlie-Maxwell Funeral Home with a graveside service immediately following at Fountain Head Memorial Park at 3pm.
