Rafaela Rodriguez

Born February 26, 1941 in Ponce, Puerto Rico
Departed July 5, 2023 in Melbourne, Florida

Rafaela was born on February 26, 1941, in Ponce, Puerto Rico. She married her loving and loyal husband, David, on August 24, 1957. Together, they raised three children who brought immense happiness to their lives. She leaves behind a remarkable legacy of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, with whom she developed deep bonds. To them, she was not only a grandparent but also a cherished mentor and friend.

She was an excellent cook and had a lifelong love of gardening. She had a deep affection for animals, especially her beloved cat Coco and her dog Chiquita. However, her greatest joys in life were her family and her faith in her God, Jehovah.

Through life’s joys and challenges, Rafaela’s faith remained unwavering. She actively shared her love for Jehovah and the hope of the resurrection with those she encountered in her daily life and in the door-to-door ministry. Her zeal for preaching was well-known, and her understanding of the truth was shown in her comments and words of advice. Jehovah, who knows all things, will reward her abundantly for the kind and generous spirit she showed.

To know Rafaela was to love her. She developed many lifelong friendships during her lifetime and touched the lives of so many people, sometimes in truly profound ways. She had an infectious laugh, a great sense of humor, and loved to tell a good story. Her family and members of her congregation were recipients of her compassion, encouragement, and boundless love.

Rafaela was an exceptional and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and friend. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

“I beg you, O Jehovah, remember, please, how I have walked before you faithfully and with a complete heart, and I have done what was good in your eyes” (2 Kings 20:3).

A Celebration of Life will be held via Zoom on July 15, 2023 at 4pm EST. Please contact a member of the immediate family for more details.
