PALM BAY, FLORIDA – Scott Edward Allender, age 51, passed away in Palm Bay, Florida, on August 3, 2021. Scott was born December 19, 1969, in Akron, Ohio to Sam Allender and Mary-Ann (Kuhar) Allender.

Scott grew up in Palm Bay, and was a graduate of Palm Bay High School, class of 1988. He spent four years serving our country in the United States Marine Corp, which he was very proud of. Scott received the Navy Achievement Medal by General Gray for his outstanding accomplishments during a joint service exercise. Scott spent 22 years with the City of Melbourne Fire Department as a Driver Engineer and Firefighter/Paramedic, where he held many accolades for his public servant position. He was a hard worker who also worked a second job for many years with Rural Metro Ambulance in Orlando. Scott was a very talented fisherman and loved his time spent at the Stick Marsh and many other lakes across the state. He fished many State Firefighter tournaments, Palm Bay Bass Masters tournaments and numerous charity tournaments.

Scott is survived by his loving wife; Michelle, his children; Alicia (Marc), Ciara (Adrian), Scotty and Sophia and his grandchildren, Athena, Joshua, Liam and Selena; his brother, Jeff (Makell) and nieces, Jessica, Rachel, and Deann and his sister, Jill (Cesar) and his nephew, Keith; his Godfather/Uncle Stan (Nada); as well as many, many lifelong friends and bonus family who he is so very blessed to have and too numerous to list. Scott is predeceased by both of his parents; Sam and Mary-Ann and his brother, Vincent.

Scott is loved by so many and had a heart of gold. He would do anything for his family, friends, or anyone really. He had a tough exterior but was a gentle giant. He was passionate about his job but loved his time on the lake. He enjoyed bass fishing, motorcycling, 4-wheeling, playing Clash of Clans and watching the Florida Gators play football. He was the leader of our family and loved us more than anything in this world. He was a believer in Jesus Christ, and we know he is seated next to our Lord and Savior in Heaven alongside his mom and dad, and his brother, Vincent. We’re certain he is looking down watching over us and wishing he was here to hold us. This past month has been the most difficult of our lives. Never did we think this was it, this was the end. We keep waiting for him to come home from his shift. It is absolutely surreal. We appreciate the outpouring of love and compassion. We hope that you’ll have patience with us as we move forward learning to live without the rock to our foundation.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Chapel of Melbourne located at 2955 Minton Road West Melbourne, Florida 32904. A reception and celebration of Scott’s Life will follow at the Melbourne Auditorium located at 625 E Hibiscus Blvd, Melbourne, FL 32901.
