Shatonya Laquise Watson Rathjen, 35 years old, of Melbourne Florida passed away on February 15, 2021.
Shatonya was born in Melbourne Florida on July 6, 1985 to Alonzo Watson of Palm Bay, Florida and Peggy Brown of Melbourne, Florida. She attended Palm Bay School. She late attended cosmetology school at Brevard Community College in Cocoa, FL.
In 2007, she met Robert Rathjen, and wed June 9, 2007, and have two beautiful children, Destiny and Bryce.
Shatonya became a member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in Palm Bay FL where she was Baptist. She was a part of the different ministries within the church to include Youth Ministry meeting, sung in the Youth Choir, Mt. Moriah Sacred Dancers, and participated in Oratorical competition team. She was also a member of the College Reach Out Brain Bowl Team at Brevard Community College.
Shatonya worked as a cashier clerk at seven eleven for a short time in Melbourne. Before transferring to Melbourne, FL she worked as an Assistant Manager at the Dollar Tree in Merritt Island, FL.
She is survived by her husband; Robert Rathjen, Destiny Rathjen (daughter) and Bryce Rathjen (son) all of Merritt Island FL; three stepchildren Zack (Cierra) Rathjen of Satellite, Taylor (Evan) Short of Ft. Bragg, TX, A.J. (Corrie) Rathjen of Melbourne, FL; father Alonzo Watson of Palm Bay, FL; mother Peggy (Jacky) Brown of Melbourne, FL; grandparents Elgin and Annie Jordan of Melbourne, FL; Sister, Quantelle Watson of Palm Bay, FL; Brother, Jawaund (LaTonya) Ramsey of Tallahassee, FL; two nieces Jaiden Ramsey and Makayla Bristol of Tallahassee, FL; two nephews Marqueil Ford-Watson and Marcus Green-Watson both of Palm Bay, FL; eight uncles, Alfonzo (Patricia) Ramsey of Buena Vista, GA, Byron Lynn Jordan of Utica, NY, Theardis Watson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Jerry Ramsey of Summerville, SC, Victor (Sandra) Watson of Palm Bay, FL, Oscar Watson of Cocoa, FL, Marvin (Trista) Jordan of Palm Bay, FL and Gary Jordan of Melbourne, FL; two Aunts, Lee “Toni” Best of Melbourne, FL, Carolyn (Albert) Jennings of Palm Bay, FL; two Sisters-In-Law, Dianne Rathjen of New York City, NY and Eileen Boose of Palm Bay, FL. Her memories will forever be cherished by a host of family, cousins, and friends.

WE remember Shatonya from being in MT> Moriah's Youth Group with our children. She was quiet and always very polite.
