Thea Erna Dora Whalen – Thea, known to family and friends as “Oma”, was born in Odelburg, Germany on June 28, 1939. She arrived to the United States through Ellis Island in 1955. While living in New York, she met and fell in love with her best friend and husband of 59 years, Eugene.

Thea was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed playing the lotto and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Thea had an insatiable sweet tooth and loved all animals, especially her cat, Percy.

Thea is preceded by her husband, Eugene on December 2, 2021 and her sister Resa McAllister.

She will be forever remembered by her daughter Jean and son-in-law, Emil, son Kenneth and daughter-in-law Annant and son Edward; as well as her grandchildren Jordan, Joe, Austin, Emil Jr., Julie and Hailey and her long-time dear friends Arleen Johnson and Roberta Uva.
