Yvonne Shingler

Yvonne Shingler, 87, of Melbourne Village passed gently away on Monday, February 21st.

While born and raised in Ohio, she stayed in Florida after graduating from the University of Florida. She taught science at Central Junior High and Holy Trinity Episcopal School. She said she finally decided to retire from teaching when she started teaching the grandchildren of her former students!

She was a very active member of local philanthropic organizations, Order of the Amaranth, Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was also a member of the Brevard County Historical Commission and worked to publish the “History of Brevard County”, Vols. 1, 2, 3.

She was a loving and caring wife and mother and she will be missed in our presence but will be forever in our hearts.

Survivors include her daughter Kim son Mark(Diana), granddaughters Annalise, Emily, Isabel, greatgrandchildren Wilder, Revery and Joanna. Calling hours will be Friday, February 25th from 4pm-6pm with a service at 4:30pm in the Brownlie – Maxwell Funeral Chapel. The family requests that donations be made in her name to the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.

So sorry to learn too late about Yvonne's passing to enable attending service on Feb. 25th. She was also a member of Hadji Court # 88, Ladies' Oriental Shrine of N. A. (LOSNA). We have missed having her at our meetings, but continued to count her as one of us. God Bless all in the family during this time of sorrow. Donna
