Anna Maria Bonagura Roe

At the age of 99, Anna Maria passed away peacefully in Melbourne, Florida with her loving niece/long time caregiver by her side. She was predeceased by her husband James Albert Roe and her brother Giovanni Bonagura. With siblings in the states and in Italy Anna was the oldest of seven siblings and is survived by Clementina Costa, Enrica Bonifacio, Luigi Bonagura, Camilo Bonagura, and Francesca Lastray. She also leaves a long list of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews as well as 2 great, great nieces.

Anna Maria was born in Rome, Italy where she graduated college and worked as a secretary. She married James Roe in 1963 in Rome and soon after immigrated to the United States in 1964, residing in Fall River, Massachusetts where she worked as a seamstress for Anderson Little. Anna Maria never had children of her own but was a big part of all our lives, that included many generations of nieces and nephews. Her favorite card games were Quiddler and Scopa and she frequently kicked our butts! Anna Maria loved to bake and over the many years of family gatherings, we all enjoyed her frappe and crostata and she herself NEVER said no to eating dessert.

Anna Maria was a devote Roman Catholic, she loved to cook, travel, play games, crochet, animals, and do tia chi. She was a wife, a sister, an aunt, a great aunt, and a friend to all that met her. She was a kindhearted, loving soul and lived an exceptionally long, happy life and while she will be missed, she most certainly will not be forgotten. Tanti baci sempre.
