On Sunday, September 6, 2020, Ralph Sigward Perers passed away at the age of 87 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s Disease. Ralph was born to Sara and Eric Perers in Chicago Illinois. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and his Master’s in Business Administration from Northwestern University. Ralph served in the United States Army stationed in Puerto Rico.
He moved to Melbourne Beach Florida in 1968 and founded American Business Interiors, which just celebrated its 50th anniversary and proudly remains a family business today. ABI was a lifelong passion for him, he loved the people he worked with and the community that he engaged meaningfully with. He was a proud board member of many local organizations including, Eastern Florida State College, The United Way, and Junior Achievement where he was honored as a Laureate inductee to the Business Hall of Fame. In his retirement he stayed active as a SCORE mentor, sharing his passion supporting small business owners. Ralph was proud of his Swedish descent and remained close to his extended family in Sweden.
Ralph was preceded in death by his father and mother and his beloved brother Roger. He is survived by his wife Susan Perers, and his children Sara Perers Zimmardi, Kristin Perers, Robert Perers, Scott Freeland and Jennifer Glass, 10 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who all loved him dearly.
Virtual services will be at St. Anthony the Great Church, 5pm-7pm on Wednesday Sept 9th.
