Steven Mark Dessart

Born on June 6, 1950 in Green Bay. Wisconsin
Departed on January 27, 2022 in Palm Bay, Florida

Steven Mark Dessart, 71, passed away on January 27th, 2022. He passed away with loved ones by his side after a courageous battle with cancer while under the tender care of William Childs Hospice House in Palm Bay, Florida.
He was born to parents Joseph E. Dessart and Patricia C. Coniff, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he graduated from Premontre High School there.
Steve enlisted in the US air force at Patrick Air Force Base in 1973 and earned the rank of sergeant. He served his country for four years as a radio repairman before being honorably discharged in 1977.
He graduated cum laude with his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Arkansas University in 1980 where he was elected to “Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” in recognition of outstanding merit and accomplishment as a student.
Steve labored and worked so his family could have a better life. He worked at Unisys Corporation in Tulsa, Oklahoma doing customer service engineering from 1981 to 1990. Steve then worked at Guardsmark in December 1990 and was the recipient of the Supervisor Achievement Award for the Central Region on June 25, 1993, for being an extremely reliable member of the security force. Steve took great pride in getting up every morning and going to his job.
He retired from Albemarle Corporation in Magnolia, Arkansas in 2005 after 12 years. After retirement, he returned to Palm Bay, Florida where he enjoyed an active and happy retirement. His passions were jogging, remaining a lifelong learner, dancing, and reading.
He was a gentleman: holding open doors, refraining from cursing and removing his hat when he sat down to dine. He was always chivalrous. He acted as a good role model. He gave the best of himself to his daughters and nieces. We let him know at the end he was never alone when he needed us because he was always there for us.
If you asked a hundred people who Steve was, they’d all have a story to tell. A man of steel. A superhero. A chief. A boxer. Steve was perhaps all of them. He was a storyteller. From the time he was young he fully experienced life. No matter the occasion, Steve had a story.
He was a kind and loving partner to Kathryn De Vocht, who survives him. Steve is also survived by his son Joseph Dessart, daughter Jessica Dessart, daughter Christina Dessart, brothers Dave and Dan Dessart, nieces Dawn, Jenny, and Becky, as well as a host of three granddaughters and one grandson. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and son Wade Dessart.
The family asks that people make donations in support of William Childs Hospice House, in lieu of sending flowers.

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4

Christina, Jessica, Joe and family, my husband Dave and I send our condolences and love to you all. I am the sister of Carole Ashford Dessart and Dave, I remember Steve as a young child but unfortunately never got to know him as an adult, what a life Steve lived! He was a blessed man to have children as wonderful as you all are. May God continue to bless you and keep you, Mary and Dave
